Physical description: Looking superbly in shape for a man of his years, Sarutobi boasts almost a full head of white hair, tan skin, black eyes, a scattering of honestly earned wrinkles and a few liver spots on his left cheek. He is really quite proud of his triangular beard, and his ANBU, despite being the bravest of the brave, hesitate to comment on his chin fluff.

Mini Bio: He is the leader of the Village Hidden in the Leaves, and a good man besides that. He is third person to take the Hokage role, as his title suggests, and was the sensei to Jiraiya, Tsunade and Orochimaru. He passed on his role of leader to the Yondaime, and resumed it once more on the latter’s death five years ago.

Also known as The Professor for his encyclopedic knowledge of jutsu (he is purported to know all of the jutsu that exist within Konoha) Surutobi is a legend on the battlefield and much beloved by the majority of his subordinates.

Despite being a good man, he still willing to send his ANBU to do the jobs necessary to keep Konoha alive, which is why he can make the claim to be a good leader.


Arakaki Hisoka - age 41, Jounin, Director of ANBU Operations

Physical description: Arakaki is a handsome man; possessing chiseled features, a dimpled chin, and a complete lack of anything like a cheerful smile. Broad-shouldered and extremely fit, he carries himself with dignity and a precise military bearing. Close-cropped dark hair with just a touch of grey at the temples, black-brown eyes, and a dusky complexion completes the image.

Mini Bio: An old-line war hawk to his core, Arakaki is not a man to cross. His father was one of Shodai’s trusted advisors, but Arakaki worked his own way up through ANBU ranks to become the head of the field operations. He deserves every inch of his reputation and captains his subordinates with solid discipline and iron will.

Oita Gennosuke - age 51, Jounin, Director of ANBU Intelligence

Physical description: Absolutely average in every way possible. Oita is the sort of man who blends in invisibly with a crowd. A grey man your eyes slide right over.

Mini Bio: Professionally paranoid, as befits a director of Intelligence. Almost nothing is known about him or his family, although it is believed he is married and has at least one child.


Shida Akumaru - age 47, Jounin, Director of Torture & Interrogation

Physical description: If you took a bulldog, stretched it out, shaved it mostly bald, gave it muddy brown-green eyes and melted half its face off, you’d be arrested for animal cruelty. You would also achieve one Shida Akumaru. Short, stocky, built primarily from solid muscle and rock hard balls, Shida is the kind of man to give ANBU a bad name, which is saying something. The right side of his face is a nightmare playground of shiny plastic scars, stretching from hairline to collarbones, and because of this his mouth is fixed in a permanent twisted smirk. Children tend to run away at the sight of him.

Yes, that includes ninja children.

Mini Bio: Shida is the man you meet in ANBU when you have Fucked Up. He is cunning, he is devious, he knows the word ‘moral’ insofar that he read it on a bar napkin once, and he can break a man in less time then it takes to brush his teeth. Being the director in charge of ANBUs Torture and Interrogation, his skills should be obvious: getting into a prisoner's mind, making them cry, making them talk. He knows the limits of the human body intimately, and understands how to take a person past all their previously known limits. His talent in the kinds of genjutsu that influence a person's memories and personal experiences is currently unmatched, though his skill in overall genjutsu would probably be considered little better than average.

He can sing a surprisingly decent karaoke.


Kanae - age 45, Jounin, Medic

Physical description: Picture a medic. Make her tall, composed, sweet natured, and possessing of cool, soothing hands. Picture her laughing at this image. Give her a wry grin. Congratulations, you’ve just met Kanae. She has brown hair (shoulder length and kept out of her eyes with a bandanna), hazel eyes, green chakra, more then her fair share of wrinkles, and she’s been doing this job long enough to see the funny side.

Mini Bio: Kanae is the woman you meet when life has Fucked Back. Until Haruichi’s recent return she took the role as ANBU’s head medic and was talented enough to do that for two years without developing a caffeine addition. She has two young boys and one husband and thinks they’re more trouble then the rest of ANBU put together. She takes no shit and will be merrily, unrepentantly ironic at you while she puts your insides back together. Kanae now runs the duel roles of active mission medic -- being one of the few qualified to deal with ANBU-level field injuries on a regular basis, and take care of herself as a ninja at the same time -- and in-house all-round fixer-upper of damaged shinobi. On her very rare free days she works and teaches at the hospital.


Morimoto Shingo - age 56, civilian, ANBU Cafeteria Head Chef

Physical description: Imagine a New York beat cop. Put him in an apron. Hand him a cleaver. Take away his hair and give him sharp grey eyes. Think of his complexion as 'weathered'. Listen to the intonation of his voice, which is a melody of rough grumbles and brassy-noted swearing. This is Morimoto Shingo, and he does not get paid enough for this job.

Mini Bio: The first day he became ANBU's head chef, Morimoto walked into his kitchen with his head held high. Twenty minutes later he stormed out again over an incident that has since become known as the 'Cornflake Catastrophe', proving, if nothing else, that ninja enjoy a good alliteration as much as anyone. His passion is food, his emotion is written in the subtle majesty of a really good meal, and he takes nothing but flak from tired, grouchy ANBU all day long. After a while, he stopped caring. For a pinch of flattery and a saucy look, however, he is still known to whip up something tasty for the man (or woman) who will take the time to appreciate it.


Abe Jimon - age 27, Special Jounin, Torture & Interrogation
Known information: Works in intel and coding with Murakami Sumire, who would describe him as 'creepy'. Occasionally does Hunter debriefings.

Kunou Hidehiko - age 23, Special Jounin, Intel Internal Operations
Known information: Quiet with a wry sense of humor. Medium build, light brown hair, grey eyes. Occasional lover of Sakamoto Ginta. Works in Mission Assessment Office.

Matsudaira Ranmaru, - age 28, Jounin, Hunter
Known information: Tall, sociopathic shinobi. Suspected to torture puppies on his free days. Hatake and Inuzuka alike should avoid.

Minamoto Touji - age 22, Special Jounin, Hunter
Known information: Tall, taijutsu specialist. The scars crossing his face are rumoured to be the result of a lovers quarrel over a lady immediately preceding his entrance to ANBU. Has a marked dislike for Namiashi Raidou owing to the latter's one-time attempt to make him eat floor. Now missing a tooth.

Tsubuki Shunsuke - age 21, Special Jounin, Torture & Interrogation
Known information: Small build, big eyes, shaggy dark hair, and would be cute if not for the fact he enjoys torturing people with needles for a living. Well, okay, he's still cute. Just watch the senbon.
