What the heck happened between Sumire and Shibata? In Scarlet Spiral they were very friendly, and all of a sudden they hate each other. Did I miss something?

I've wandered over here from various links in friend's livejournals and very much enjoyed the Kakashi x Ginta story :) very well done (though obviously if Dark is writing it'd be awesome I have always enjoyed their fanfics as well :) ) and can't wait to see what will happen next! I'd never read rpg communities before so thanks for showing me that it can be really well done and enjoyable even for us anon watchers! Quick question - so do most players set up a time to 'meet' in the thread and role play since I noticed alot of the time stamps are right after each other.

Really enjoyed all the rp's being updated :D Great job Kakashi and Sumire; and all the Raido related rp's - the genma nightmare one was especially well written! :D

Just wanted to post kudos again to Genma and Raidou :) I have really enjoyed your current story arc and think it's great that you're posting in somewhat shorter bursts but that each one is it's own little arc :) it makes it a lot easier and more enjoyable to read :D (lol even though I know that's not the primary goal!)

Also really enjoyed Tsume :) and her different interactions with everyone. It's going to be amusing to see her and Ryouma if they do keep flirting hehe :) yay for MILFs! I'm really curious to see if Ryouma and Kakashi interact some more, that's an interesting dynamic. :)

>_> now I'll shut up - I always feel like I've read a story and should post a review or something hehe :D great job everyone!

I can't even begin to articulate how impressed I am by nearly every thread in this journal (Scarlet Spiral as well, though I never left a comment there). I mean... goddamn, you guys. ALL of you... sheer literary/stylistic chops aside, you lot are ridiculously witty, your versatility is astounding (energetic battles to quiet isolation to playful banter to bad dreams and beyond? C'mon, now) and for all of the extraordinary & unreal trappings of a shinobi world, your characters never fail to be believable and human (not to mention fun/interesting/heartbreaking to read).
In short: you're all incredibly talented and fantastic in every known sense of those words, and probably some unknown.
In shorter: Bravo, bravo, bravo!

*For the sake of a much overdue personalized kudos, it bears mentioning that the story that moved me to finally leave this comment was, in fact, the "It takes a [insert noun]" series, featuring good ol' Raidou and Genma. I'm not really sure why I never piped up over at Scarlet Spiral, but if I had, I'd have been singing your praises at the top of my lungs. You two never fail to blow me away.

Fallen

Hey, there, you awesome peeps! This here is a fan-type-lurker. I fell hard for Scarlet Spiral last autumn, (via Kilerkki's HP/Naruto fic), but never posted my bit in the Guestbook. (Mmm, guess I'll do that.)

Anyway, I'm glad to be reading Fallen Leaves now, and it keeps me on my toes, figuring out which pieces from SS carry over. (Thank all the gods, Haruichi's back! ^_~)

There are some character interactions of Scarlet Spiral I really miss, but at the same time, there are some aspects of Fallen that I really prefer. So while SS will always hold a special place in my heart, (and possibly hard copy collection, so's I can give my 'net connection a break with all the re-readings), I find Fallen Leaves also establishing itself there and worming its way into my subconciousness.

Speaking of... I blame Raidou's player for spontaneously eating my brain. So here, simply must share this bit of writing because it's ALL YOUR FAULT. (Okay, not exactly. You were just the one holding a very sparky matchstick near the plot rodent in the cage above my head.)

See, the non-interactivity of collateral humans across the fandom has been getting to me. Do none of these helpless civilian/witness characters ever -try- something unusual? Throw the ANBU ninja a new curve ball? So during the "It Takes..." series, the poignancy of the "Sorry, darling" scene hit me so vividly that my brain misfired and derailed and uh, well, here.

Similar situation, different maid.

(This is a rough. I make no claims as to its quality, but it's the gist of the idea.)

---
Those sounds. Now that smell. She was entirely certain it meant Bad Things for her empl- well, former employer - and now the quivering of her body and stillness of the air in the bathroom told her it meant Bad Things for her as well.

A maid often learned useful tidbits, but was taught to be quiet about them, so her string of curses was no less vehement for its utter silence. What impressive luck had led her to this point? Why had she bothered to cover Misa-san's shift at the last minute? If she had left the girl to be fired, it would have turned out well for both of them, and she wouldn't be trembling in a watercloset, wondering when, if ever, she could leave this shift.

No, she'd put herself to the trouble, and now felt with gripping certainty that she was "a witness" - who hadn't seen a goddamned thing. What gods had she pissed off, again? Or maybe it was her mother. Mother had always claimed that her daughter's stubborn unwillingness to do anything troublesome would protect her better than a shield from the gods. Apparently, having dropped that arrogant pseudo-shield, she became a giant magnet for heavenly misfortune.

If she could just get the hell out of here, no one would care. She wasn't supposed to be here, and she hadn't seen anything, but her chances of getting out alive with that excuse were fat, slim, and all manner of malnourished. There was a right time to leave... which she finally recognized by its absence as having passed her three seconds ago on an express, no-return ticket.

Hell sounded lovely. Earth was about to be massively unpleasant.

-------

As the door slid back, she learned her fate was to meet face-to-face that which she didn't care to ever glimpse, much less exchange greetings with: a masked and bloodied ninja assassin. Now that she was truly a witness, promises to hold her tongue weren't the accepted currency for buying "Get Out of Death" passes.

The assassin only evaluated her still position for a moment, then he was shifting - And she was speaking.

Stubborn people don't go out this way!

"Take me with you. I will pay my way."

She was determined to live, and suddenly certain she could. Even with his deadly hand a scant inch from her throat. She would be of enough use to an injured ninja to merit his bringing her along. In this soul-illuminating moment, she was all for the, "You scratch my back, I scratch yours," philosophy... No matter how troublesome.

For the "It Takes Time to Recover" thread.

As ever, absolutely brilliant and I have so many pictures in my head it may actually explode! But to explain...the song below came on just as I was reading Genma contemplating the night before and whether it actually did happen.

It was a perfect little moment in my day, thank you :D

This moment in song:- Nickleback: If Everyone Cared

It just came on as I was reading and it was so perfect I just had to share :)

What I'm Loving About Fallen,

(and prefer over Spiral.)

It's In the Atmosphere

>Player-Related Improvements:

Consistency - You display fantastic versatility as writers, but now on top of that, the stories and styles in Fallen are integrating so smoothly it's like watching chiffon sleeves glide over a dancer's arms.

Maturity - As I read, an aura of experience envelopes me. It hardly seems possible, but y'all are playing off each other better. It went from drives on even pavement, to traveling on rubberized asphalt, (and if you've never been on rubberized asphalt, it's one helluva smooth ride.) This is something past sheer composition skill, which all of you display like it's normal to set off fireworks every evening before brushing your teeth and going to bed. (Not where I live!)

>Story-Related Improvements:

Change in ANBU dorms - From a pressure-cooker to a nicely warming oven. While it was a fascinating flavor in Spiral, now daily life in the dorms isn't so oppressive that agents are more likely to get burned at home than while in the deep-frying pan of a mission. Fallen's probably a bit closer to Real that way, since high-strung, highly-stressed people can and do occupy living spaces in the same building without destabilizing each other.

New personalities - The new characters? WIN. New looks at old characters? Also thumbs up!

Whatever you guys have done, it's showing. Fallen's hit 'jewel' status while still in the opening stages. Possibilities abound. I don't know how you could further amaze me, but I'll be finding out soon, again and again. It's a good time to be alive, and literate. ^_^

Nn, tired. Sorry, know I'm forgetting stuff. I'll reread Fallen tomorrow/today until Stuff comes back. XD

I think I actually may fall in love with Sumire. The more I read of her, the more I love her!

The thread with Raidou and Genma is fabulous. I just love the way she bristles and is so fantastically prickly. I do think i'm in love. (Your so getting a picture whether you like it or not :P You have inspired me! ) Her houmour is just spot on and the condesending tone is ... I need another word instead of fabuluos... marvelous! Thats the word!

The way she cares despite herself. It just makes me happy all over to read.

You made me laugh for the first time all day. Thank you for writing such a good character, and I'm waiting on tenterhooks for my body to be awake enough for me to be able to read more. (If this makes no sense I do apologize, I'm very sleepy).

Once again THANK YOU! And Sumire's fabulous!

Wow, things just keep getting better and better here! I like that there are some threads from the past up right now, filling in the back story of characters and finding links! That is pretty awesome :) (and wow Tsume and Raidou your current thread is so intense! I wanted to wait and read it when it's 'finished' but I can't help but keep reading it in pieces. Somehow that fact that they are going to do this on the rooftop in some ?rowdy? part of the city just makes it more...raw. Really major kudos to both of you :D)

And of course, Kakashi's new thread was fantastic :) Oh so Kakashi to cut off his nose despite his face with expending the last of his chakra to get 'away'... his confusion about Rin was especially touching - it was such a more vulnerable and cagey Kakashi than the current one - great job Dark and Haurichi was fantastic, in his not quite bedside manner but wanting to do the 'right thing' it makes me eager to read more of his threads in the present :)

Finally :) enjoyed the Sumire/Genma/Raidou thread and liked that they argued and such, seemed rather realistic just hope that things aren't as irreparable as Genma is thinking about him and Sumire - looks like she's going to need all the friends she can get with her latest thread O_O Good writing all around with everyone :) and squee looking forward to dancing and hot springs! maybe some happy nc17 eh?

Also liking Ginta and Ryouma :) those are an unlikely pair in some ways and lol at the psuedo-sexual tension there heh I like that Ginta is a bit confused but willing to roll with it either way it turns out :)

I am in love . . .

. . . with this most awesome of RPGs. I came over here from Scarlet Spiral, which of course was just as awesome. Seriously, you guys all are such captivating writers. Now a word to my favorites:

TO Dark and Nezuko: *Squeals and Glomps you both*
About Raidou and Genma -- I LOVE your Raidou & Genma threads. You make it such a pleasure to read about them. The relationship you've developed between these two is so heartwarming, without being overly mushy. I must say I tend to read the Rai & Gen threads before anything else. They're just that great. ^_^
About Kakashi and Ginta -- I REALLY liked that "The Genius and the Jackass" thread. It kept me on pins and needles. I remembering sitting down one night and clicking on it. and I just couldn't stop reading 'till the end. I went to bed like at 4am. Oh but it was worth it. *Nods* I hope these two will interact again soon! ^_~ Also, both these characters' interactions with Ryouma are utterly awesome too. I just read what was going on in "Thicker Than Water," and OMG I hope there's more soon!!

TO Sna: *showers you with roses* . . . I hope you're not allergic! ^^;
About Haruichi -- Being the player of Haruichi, you probably already know that he is all manner of AWESOME; which in turn makes YOU all manner of AWESOME. ^__^ I frickin' love love love that bugger. I've loved him since Scarlet Spiral and I was oh so excited to see him in this universe as well. You just make him so fun to read about. He is so delightfully pissy in the most hilarious of manners. I can't get enough of him; which reminds me of my only complaint, and that is that there aren't enough threads with him!! Oh I felt so bad for him in that "Prides and Falls" thread, but I seriously LOVED how he literally took a bite out of Arakaki. \(^o^)/ I just started reading "Running in Circles," and I can't wait to see what mess Haruichi will get into now.

TO Kilerkki: *Performs all manner of fanfare*
About Ryouma -- OMG!! I read your fics all the time!! When I first saw a thread with Ryouma, I was like: Oh, whose this? So I checked out the character profile, of course, and saw you played him and had a seizure of joy on the spot. ^_^; Well, needless to say, he's now one of the characters I constantly check for. He's great to read with any character, but so far my favorite thread has been "Old Faces, New Names" with Ginta. That thread has had me joyously snorting with laughter. Especially that one comment about the world exploding because of the awesomeness of his and Ginta's hypothetical children -- LMAO x 1000. I'm looking forward to the conclusion of "Thicker than Water".

Well, now before IJ decides my comment is waaay too long, I just wanna thank all the players for taking time out of your busy days to create such wonderful writing for us non-players to enjoy. Hugs for everybody, you guys rock! ♥~\(^.~)

How you have Ryouma making not having visitors and refering to street rats funny (and so painfully aww-worthy, in large part because of the funny) is beyond me. You're a genuis. I give you the genuis hat.

I just got around to reading the Ayumi/Aoba thread, and I wanted to say it's lovely! I adore all of Aoba's little comments about the other ninja--besides which, seeing Tsume referenced in anything makes me gleeful--and Ayumi wanting to talk with an Inuzuka dog made me dance. *grins*

Very cute and highly entertaining!

I was so happy to see new rp with Genma, Raidou, and Tsume! :) Glad you all could find time and energy to get together and rp heheh :D Can't wait to see where it goes -- so far poor Raidou he just can't win when he's near Tsume O_O and oh my when they both remember! O_O sheesh! Also loved Tsume's little look at home, it kinda illustrated why she doesn't go back there too much.

Dear Nezu, JB and Dark,

Your new Tsume, Raidou and Genma thread ROCKS.

I was reading it this morning and none of you were online so I could only squee in crazed delight at the subtle partner interactions of Gen and Rai's, the way Tsume thinks, so warm and collected and experienced, and her own unique mind in her thoughts, the way all three of them are settled, experienced ANBU without anything to prove, the light and easy teasing - with a very very faint undercurrent of 'I'm sure I remember you, but where?' and the very light, almost automatic flirting on Genma's part, and you three are geniuses (genii? XD) and I worship and grovel at your feet.

Go veteran ANBU!

OMG *squee squee* :D so happy to see these two characters together again!! But so incredibly sad!! :( OH no it was rather shocking to see Kakashi the loser in his struggles with the bad!anbu O_O I mean it's not that he's invincible he gets hurt quite a bit on here, but just :( I hurt for him because I know this will not be one that goes away quickly with all the things revolving around it.

I really hope Ryouma can make some impression on him so that Kakashi doesn't push him away for good!

Fantastic writing ladies <3 I'm totally enjoying it and wish I could stay up and see how the thread will end but it's bed time :(
