Character Application

Applications are OPEN. The application form has been designed to make it easy for the moderators to review applications and to get players thinking in detail about their characters. The application is only the first step; if the mods give preliminary approval, you will be invited to join in a sample RP with one or more mods to evaluate your playing qualities. If you have questions about the application process, feel free to contact the moderators at fallenmods@gmail.com.

Please fill out the following form with the subject line "Fallen Leaves Application" and send it to fallen_mods at fallenmods@gmail.com. You will receive a reply as soon as we can manage; feel free to send a pestering email if you haven't heard anything after a week. Please don't make a character journal until you hear back from us.

As of right now, we are not allowing revision/resubmission of rejected applications in most circumstances. Please show us the very best you have to offer the first time around. If your application is rejected, you may still submit an application for a different character, but you may not reapply as the rejected character unless the moderators specifically tell you that you may. Do not ask about reapplying as your rejected character; the answer will be no.

We highly recommend that you read other characters' profiles, and as much of the RP as possible, before applying. The plot summary recaps many of the older threads. The Character List may be found here; we'd also highly recommend that you take a look at Shiranui Genma's profile for an example of canon character interpretation, or Tousaki Ryouma's profile to get a good idea of what we're looking for in an original character.

ALSO NOTE: We will be looking more favorably upon applications for male characters. Canon portrayals of ANBU show us one definitely female agent out of...lots. This is a bloody, dangerous, nasty job, and while women will and do join up, they're not going to be joining in the same numbers as the men. (This isn't to say that you can't apply and be accepted as a female... But you know what we prefer.)

*Note on names: Your moderators have a good knowledge of Japanese and will check every name; we WILL give you the smackdown if you use a made-up name. You wouldn't name your kid "Bloodchild Deathstorm" in English, now would you?
